Put your hands together for the biggest boyband on the planet who has just snagged their very first Grammy nomination; BTS!
With seven members and seven years in the industry, so far, BTS has collected countless accolades from both Asian and American award shows. The septet just continues to climb the ladder of success, as they have just been nominated for the Grammy category, Best Pop Duo/Group Performance.
BTS X Grammys
Earlier today, BTS and ARMY all over the world sat with in front of their TV screens, with fingers crossed, in sheer anticipation. The long-awaited announcement of 2021 Grammy nominees was peppered with all kinds of artists from every genre. And thanks to the international fame and impressive repertoire of BTS, the group's chart-topping hit, "Dynamite", was nominated for the category, Best Pop Duo/Group Performance.
They may not have been included in the other 6 categories that they submitted for, but this alone is another huge win for both BTS and the Recording Academy.
After the big announcement, RM, V, Jungkook, and Jimin took to social media to post their reaction video. It was apparent that the boys were holding their breath until they heard their group name called. Jumping for joy and cheering out loud, the members posted the candid video with a hilariously matching caption: "Ohmmmmmmyyyyyyyyggghghhhhhhhgggggggggdhdhsjsixudbslsogbdsisgshdbxidjdbdidhdifjfiri #GRAMMYs #BTS"
The caption may not have been entirely coherent, but it definitely made sense, and the feeling within the fandom was mutual.
BTS X The Late Late Show With James Corden
Just hours before the Grammy nominee announcement, BTS took the stage to perform a poignant Christmas themed version of "Life Goes On". Talk show host and international funny man, James Corden, was quick to post a congratulatory message for the boys and announce the group's next performance on his show, which took place earlier today. Quick thinking, James Corden! We like that.
BTS performed "Dynamite" on an airport runway and inside a runway, a clever and uplifting sequel to their performance of "Life Goes On" the day before. The connection between the two symbolized a spark of hope. From staying indoors all year to finally seeing the world again.
ARMY, are you excited to see BTS grace the Grammy stage in January 2021? Because we are, and whether they win that Grammy or not, they're bound to be a shining addition to the awards ceremony.
